Refund policy

Last updated: 26 November 2025

We want you to be happy with your Amee Jee order. Because we sell fresh, perishable food products, our refund and returns policy is a little different from that for non-perishable goods. This policy explains when we can, and cannot, offer refunds or replacements.

This policy applies to orders placed on ameejee.com by customers in the United Kingdom. It is in addition to your statutory rights under UK law.

1. Change of mind and cancellations

Because our products are perishable and may be prepared or packed specifically for your order:

  • Once your order has been processed and prepared for dispatch, we are generally unable to cancel it or accept a return simply because you change your mind.

  • This reflects UK law, which does not require businesses to offer 14-day change-of-mind cancellations for perishable goods bought online. (gov.uk)

If you need to cancel, please contact us as soon as possible after placing your order at hello@ameejee.com with your order number. If your order has not yet entered preparation or dispatch, we’ll do our best to help and may be able to cancel and refund, but this cannot be guaranteed.

2. Damaged, incorrect or missing items

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives.

Contact us immediately (ideally within 24 hours of delivery) at hello@ameejee.com if:

  • you receive the wrong item,

  • items are damaged in transit, or

  • items are missing from your order.

Include:

  • your order number,

  • a brief description of the issue, and

  • clear photos of the packaging and product (where possible).

We will review the issue and, where appropriate, offer:

  • a replacement,

  • a partial refund, or

  • a full refund,

depending on the nature of the problem and what is reasonable in the circumstances.

For food safety reasons we will not usually ask you to return the product, but we may ask you to keep it (or the packaging) for a short period while we investigate, and then dispose of it safely.

3. Faulty or not-as-described products (your legal rights)

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, products you buy must be:

  • of satisfactory quality,

  • fit for purpose, and

  • as described.

If you reasonably believe that a product you receive is:

  • not safe to eat,

  • of unsatisfactory quality, or

  • not as described,

please contact us as soon as possible with your order details and photos. Where appropriate, you may be entitled to a refund, replacement, or other remedy in line with your statutory rights.

Because our products are perishable, claims about quality or safety must be made promptly so we can investigate properly.

4. Delivery problems

If we fail to deliver your order:

  • within the timeframe we have agreed with you, or

  • by a date that is clearly essential (expiration date),

you may have the right to cancel the order and receive a full refund for any products not delivered, in accordance with UK consumer law.

If your order is significantly delayed or does not arrive, please contact us at hello@ameejee.com with your order number so we can investigate and resolve the issue.

Once your order has been delivered to the address provided and accepted, you are responsible for:

  • following any storage instructions (e.g. refrigeration), and

  • using the products by the date indicated on the packaging.

We cannot offer refunds where products have spoiled due to incorrect storage, failure to follow instructions, or delays in taking delivery.

5. How to contact us about a refund or issue

To report an issue or request a refund, please email hello@ameejee.com and include:

  • your full name,

  • your order number,

  • the delivery date, and

  • a description of the problem, plus photos where possible.

We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe and will let you know what we can do to put things right.

6. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this Refund & Returns Policy is intended to limit or exclude your legal rights under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable legislation.
